New York City becomes magical during the winter with all of the holiday lights adorning trees, street lights, and buildings. Some restaurants even transform their décor to create a perfect winter ambiance. If you want to find a unique winter oasis with great food and spirited drinks, keep on reading!

Below, we have noted some of the best restaurants that embrace this wintertime spirit easy to reach from Glenwood buildings whether you are uptown or downtown.

Baita By Birreria

Baita by Birreria, the Italian Alps pop-up Restaurant, is located on the roof of Eataly. It is sure to be the perfect sport if you are looking for a restaurant with great food that specializes in seasonal charm. The décor certainly creates the perfect feel of a winter chateau sitting atop lower manhattan in a snow globe.  The menu features traditional winter drinks and plates that you would find if you were traveling the Italian ski alps this winter season. Be sure to check it out! Baita is open 11:30am to 11pm from November 3rd through April. If you live in Glenwood midtown west buildings like Crystal Green, Emerald Green, or The Sage, Baita is a great spot to check out!

 

L’Avenue

If you are looking for a great winter spot with a cozy, ski chalet bar vibe and an exquisite dinner menu, you should try L’Avenue at Saks 5th Avenue 8 E 50th St. The restaurant has a separate entrance from Saks, where an elevator will take you directly to L’Avenue. Arrive a little early to have a drink at the bar downstairs that is decked with fabulous rustic winter chalet decor! You will automatically be transported out of the city! This is a great spot for Glenwood’s midtown residents to try.

Ophelia

Ophelia, located on top of Beekman Tower, is a great lounge that has 360 degree views of Manhattan. Ophelia features a fantastic cocktail and food menu with items like truffle tries, beef sliders, and Maine lobster spring rolls. During the winter, Ophelia transforms its bar area into a winter wonderland! Located on 1stAvenue between 49thSt and 50thSt, this is a great spot if you live in any of Glenwood’s midtown east buildings. The Bamford, The Belmont, The Bristol and Paramount Tower are all close by! Make sure you check Ophelia out this winter season.

The Lodge at STK Meatpacking

The Lodge is made to make you feel like you are, eating, drinking, or enjoying your friends’s company in a rustic snow globe overlooking the city. With cozy throws and blankets to meet the perfectly curated rustic décor, you and your friends can step right into a ski lodge in the heart of Manhattan’s meatpacking district. The menu reflects this winter charm as well with great seasonal options. Open from 5:30pm to the bar’s closing at 2am, you will be sure to have a fun filled winter night! Park Avenue Winter

This seasonal restaurant changes its decor and menu depending on the season! Originally located on the Upper East Side, Park Avenue Winter has relocated downtown to 360 Park Avenue South. If you are looking for a menu that is catered to the specific chilly weather outdoors, you will be wowed! From pumpkin ravioli to long island duck you will be sure to find something delicious. This restaurant is located closest to Glenwood’s downtown residents.

Igloo Bar NYC at 230 Fifth

The rooftop of 230 Fifth transforms to a special winter food and beverage with their heated igloos! While reservations are not accepted, with 17 igloos for you to enter, you are sure to have a great time! Select from great winter drinks like hot chocolate, a boozy hot chocolate, Godiva hot chocolate, virgin or spiked ciders to sweet treats like red velvet cake and fried Oreos. This unique experience is open from November to May. If you live in Emerald Green, The Sage, or Crystal Green and are looking for something fun and unique that is just a quick cab ride away, make sure you stop at the Igloo Bar!
